Fashion trends in general can be worn by whoever loves what. Menswear has long been looking to the seas for inspiration. You only need to look at the peacoat for evidence of that. But this year it’s going to go to the next level as fisherman beanies, Breton tops and other dock-worker staples creep further into mainstream men’s fashion. Well, not D&G, Gucci and a plethora of other tastemaking high-fashion houses.
- Accessorize with a pair of sunglasses and you’re ready for anything.

In the hallowed halls of the Northeastern Ivy league campuses, new trends emerged beginning with the trad style. Like the tuxedo, the trad style adopted the traditional style of the suit but was an effort to allow young men to rebel against the strict dress codes they viewed their fathers as having. Despite these dress codes being far more relaxed than anything throughout history, the Ivy league students felt they needed to revolt. While any colour of polo shirt can be worn, lighter colours will definitely work better with white pants. However, the look can be replicated with darker colours on both the shirt and pants if you desire a less summery look.
Fashion & Style
You can choose a style that mirrors your personality. If you are somewhat anti-establishment and a bit of a rebel, a punk rock or biker look may suit you best. The fashion style that’s right for you is the one that makes you feel the most like yourself. And it’s the one that makes you look the way you want the world to see you.
Between the sky blue color and the heart-shape pattern on the coordinating pieces, we were completely sold on Lawal’s finesse of this traditional Nigerian fabric. Going for a casual brunch look, he finished off the outfit with a pair of white Converse All Stars sneakers. Cutesy charm necklaces often encircled the necks of Pete Davidson and Justin Bieber, making those shlumpy style icons—and paparazzi favorites—look like they’d been sprung from summer camp. Last November, Washington Wizard Kyle Kuzma pulled up to the locker room in a pink Raf Simons sweater with gigundo sleeves, calling to mind a kid wearing his big brother’s hand-me-downs. And fashion companies minted adult-size clothes with serious Children’s Place overtones.

Outfits that are minimal and clean are very popular. However, street fashion is also rapidly growing in popularity. While street style is very broad and the same applies in Korea, this particular style has been quite widespread over the past year. Instead of going for the more common, oversized street style, this look goes for more of a standard fit.
In the 1980s things got a little more serious, with broad shoulders framing power ties and suspenders. Bold colors and graphic patterns conveyed a new national confidence and businessmen took to power dressing with an emphasis on expensive clothing and gaudy accessories. Men began to wear stylish three-piece suits which were characterized by wide lapels, wide legged or flared trousers, and high-rise waistcoats. Neckties became wider and bolder, and shirt collars became long and pointed as the “disco funk” was all the rage. The 1960s were a decade of unrest and rebellion against the establishment and the conservatism that was celebrated in the 1950s.
